Here is an opportunity to show off your string group’s ability to swing in a piece that features well, everyone! The form of the piece is a 12 bar blues. As in any good jazz solo, the choruses build up and up, getting more intense with each chorus. The violins carry the improvisatory tune in the early choruses and they give way to the cellos and basses in the third chorus. After the violins carry chorus number 4, the cellos swing the 5th chorus by themselves. This is truly a fun and exciting piece for performers and audience, they’ll all be swinging in their seats from start to finish!
